Loving Brother of Linda (Rasetta) Moccia & Bobby Moccia of Malvern, PA, the late Rita (Rasetta) Primo & Tony Primo of Revere, Louis Rasetta & Sherri (Lortie) Rasetta of Norton, Michelle (Rasetta) LeVie and Kenny LeVie of Franklin Mass, Dominic Isabella and his wife Marushka of Torrence, CA and the late Johnny Isabella of San Diego, CA. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews who he adored all very much, as well as his beloved cats Penny and Candy who followed him everywhere.
He was born in Stoneham, MA. Stephen grew up in Somerville, MA in a large, close-knit family. A blended family of siblings and cousins. They all grew up together. There were 9 of them and he was the youngest, with endless funny childhood stories.
Stephen met the love of his life, Karen, in 1987 when he swept her off her feet. They lived briefly in Dorchester and Holbrook until they settled down in Abington, MA in 1998 when they found their forever home, where they lived happily and raised their 3 sons.
Stephen was a very hard worker and provided an incredible life for his family. He was a Pile Driver for Local 56 for almost 9 years. From there he went on to be a Tower Crane Operator for Local 4, International Union of Operating Engineers for 24 years. He loved working for the Union. He made many lifelong friends out of his Union Brothers.
Without question his greatest love was his wife and sons. His sons idolize him and couldn’t have asked for a better Dad. He loved spending time with them and they have so many great memories. Whether it was going to all of their sports games, or teaching them all to swim at very young ages. Fishing, hanging at the beach, and boating were his passions and he loved to take his boys. Family was everything to him. You would often find him manning the grill at many backyard parties, whether it was his party or not. He loved to grill for the neighborhood kids who all called him “Big Steve”. His favorite party of all to host was Christmas Eve. Many family, friends and neighbors would gather and we all have wonderful memories of those nights. He was always so present in a big, LOUD way and everyone will miss that, especially his family.
He loved to spend time with his siblings, and especially his father who played a huge role in is life. Whether it was going out to dinner or just having coffee and hanging out. He also loved to work on cars and just fix things. It seemed like he could fix anything. Anyone could count on him for a helping hand, he would be there in a heartbeat to help. Whether it was family, a friend, neighbor or stranger. Riding his Harley, tending to his annual jungle-like garden, and “just puttin’ around the yard” with his friend Steve Baxter were joys. He also loved spending time at the neighbor’s/friend’s pools where he had an open invitation, just doing the simple things. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will be eternally missed by everyone who loved him.
Visitation will be on Tuesday January 18, from 4PM - 7PM at Quealy Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be on Wednesday January 19, at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church in Hanover. Interment will be private
