Steven Spencer Obituary

Steven “Steve” Nicholas Spencer

On Monday, January 4, 2021, Steven “Steve” Nicholas Spencer passed away at the age of 68. Steve was born October 17, 1952 and was a native of Abington, MA. He was the loving father of Danielle (Matt) Magnuson, Steven, and Brianna (Derek Drugg), and brother to David and Chris Spencer. Steve was predeceased by his mother Shirley (Hanson) Spencer, father Nicholas (Spinazola) Spencer, and sister Judy Messina. He is also survived by his niece and nephews, and long-time friends.

Steve graduated from Abington High School in 1971, where he played football. He was a proud Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War, and had a long career as a nurse, working in the ICU and later in home care nursing.

Steve loved watching the Red Sox and the Patriots, taking trips to New Hampshire, fishing, and was the ultimate clam dip and bar pizza connoisseur. He had an infectious sense of humor and could tell a story like nobody else; he was always able to make an entire room laugh with one of his many hilarious impersonations or voices. Steve’s biggest and proudest achievement in life was his children; he loved them fiercely and reminded them constantly of how proud they made him.

The family will hold a small private memorial service on a future date. Steve loved animals, and so the family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Last Hope K9 Rescue in his memory. www.lasthopek9.org/donate
