Theresa Marie Scribner Walton, age 86 passed away on June 14, 2023 in Scituate, MA. Theresa was born on January 8, 1937 in Somerville, MA to her father, the late Wilford Harold Scribner and her mother, the late Theresa Sybil Crispo Scribner and raised in Braintree, MA. She was the oldest of five children.
Theresa graduated from Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree in 1955 and soon after began her career at New England Telephone. She worked there until she married and started a family. Theresa eventually moved to Rockland, MA to raise her six children and called Rockland home for over 40 years.
She was active in the community, her church, and the local Rockland Schools. She had a passion for helping others, crafting, crocheting, baking, gardening and sewing. She loved growing strawberries and lilies, crocheting blankets for friends and family and hanging birdfeeders for all her favorite birds to visit. Her home was always open to anyone needing a place to stay, a home cooked meal, parental advice or for a fun night of board games, flashlight dancing, singing and loud music with her girls.
Theresa was a loving woman who spent most of her life caring for her family and thinking of others. She always surrounded herself with her family and friends, which is where she felt most comfortable and loved.
Theresa is survived by her siblings, Joseph Scribner, Evelyn LaVangie and Shirley Richards. She is pre-deceased by her sister, Norma Hutchinson. She is also survived by her six children, Christopher Bearse, Yvette Bearse, Stacey Berardinelli, Natisha Walton, Monique Walton, and Tanya Walton along with their spouses, six grandchildren, four great grand children, plus numerous nieces and nephews and grand fur-babies.
A wake will be held for Theresa at Quealy and Son Funeral Home in Abington, MA on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 4-7pm. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Church in Rockland, MA on June 21, 2023 at 9am. The committal service will take place following the mass at Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland.
