William Maskell Obituary

William Patrick “Bill” Maskell (58) of Abington, MA passed on Wednesday, July 27 at Signature Healthcare-Brockton after a long battle with respiratory illness. He was surrounded by family. Bill graduated from Weymouth Vocational Technical High School in 1982 and was a member of the Laborer’s International Union of North America for many years where he worked as a foreman for Fru-Con Construction at the Proctor and Gamble plant in Quincy. He also spent many years working in security and then for Lowe’s before his health began to decline.
As a teenager Bill worked at the Weymouth Roller Rink where he forged lifetime friendships with so many and more importantly began a courtship with his future wife Kathleen, a courtship which evolved into 38 years of marriage. Together, they had three children: William, Melissa, and Justin. A true family man, Bill loved spending time with his kids and his four grandchildren and enjoyed passing time with several hobbies including painting and fishing. His love for the music of Elvis Presley developed into a passion for singing which led him to record and perform with various bands on multiple occasions. Bill loved to delve into the world of paranormal investigation and explored that realm with great enthusiasm. In recent years, as his beard grew longer, so grew his passion for bringing joy to others. He could be seen each winter playing a wonderfully believable Santa Claus at his workplace and other private events.
Bill is also survived by his siblings Howard R. Maskell, Joseph Maskell, Linda Walker, and James Maskell as well as many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He was predeceased by his father, Howard W.R. Maskell. His mother, Paulette Maskell passed just two days after Bill’s passing.
