John Albert Meuleman

John Albert Meuleman, 75, of Abington, MA, passed away peacefully on December 19th, 2018 following a series of medical problems.

John was the loving son of the late Albert and Alice Meuleman of South Bend, IN on March 16th, 1943.  He graduated valedictorian from St. Joseph’s High School in South Bend.  Always a serious and dedicated student, John earned a scholarship to attend Notre Dame University.  He graduated in 1965 with a degree in electrical engineering.

In 1966, John moved to the east coast to begin a job in Massachusetts with Allis-Chalmers.  He continued his interests in educational pursuits and went on to earn his MBA from Northeastern University.  He began his 41-year career at Russelectric in Hingham, MA in 1975, beginning as an Application Engineer and eventually finishing his career as the VP of Sales.

In 1974, John married Gail Trenholm.  They settled in Duxbury, MA.  In 1978, they traveled together to Bogota, Colombia to adopt their first child, Daniel.  In 1980, their daughter, Robin, was adopted from Colombia as well.  Together they gave Daniel and Robin a wonderful childhood filled with piggyback rides, Farfar’s ice cream cones, summer vacations and memorable Christmas mornings.

John was most known for his love of all things Notre Dame, specifically the Fighting Irish football team.  He always made it a point to travel back to South Bend at least once a year to visit family and take in a home game.  He also never missed an opportunity to travel to their warmer destination away games. He was happy to have seen Notre Dame football twice this year during their undefeated season.

Loving father of Robin Miskel and her husband Kevin of Tampa, FL; and Daniel Meuleman of Henderson, NV.  Loving brother of Paul Meuleman of Manchester, NH, Cathy Bishop and husband Wayne Bishop of South Bend, IN and Phil Meuleman and wife Ann of Indianapolis, IN. Loving grandfather to Charles Miskel of Tampa, FL.  

Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home at 116 Adams Street, Abington on Tuesday January 8th from 6:00pm – 7:00pm with a service to immediately follow at 7pm.  The family requests donations be made to either Cure PSP 1216 Broadway, 2nd Floor,New York, NY 10001 or The Prostate Cancer Foundation1250 Fourth Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401, lieu of sending flowers.
