The world lost a treasure on November 4, 2020. Margaret “Peggy” Edith MacDonald of Whitman, formerly of Abington, passed away at age 77. She was the loving daughter of the late Richard and Helen MacDonald. Peggy was the affectionate sister of the late Ken MacDonald and wife Ellen MacDonald of Whitman, Eileen and Richard Phelps of Cocoa Beach, FL, Richard MacDonald of Cocoa Beach, FL and Steve and Gail MacDonald of Whitman. She adored her many nieces and nephews; Kenny, Sue, the late Steven, Kendra, Laura, Brian, Mike, Bonnie, Matt, Kim, Amanda and Andrew. She especially loved spoiling her “grandchildren”; Kevin, Serena, Sam, Brady, Preston, Luke, Ella, Tyler, Cami, and Julian.
Peg worked at Rockland Trust for 47 years in customer service. She lived a full life. When she wasn’t hanging out in St. Maarten with Sue and Sharon, having breakfast with Kim, playing bingo at St. Bridget’s or doing her Christmas shopping in July, she would be checking in with her many family members and friends. She would always start the call with “It’s just Peg”. But there was no minimizing Peg. She had a warm heart and was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Peggy was truly one of a kind.
Peg’s life will be celebrated during a graveside service at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Rockland on April 14, 2021 at 11:30am, her birthday, where she will be buried with her parents.
