Maureen Dursin Obituary

Maureen Rose Dursin, of Abington, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 21 at Baypointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Brockton, MA. Born August 10, 1943 in Brockton, Maureen was the daughter of the late Ted and Edna Feeley. She enjoyed a full, long, rich life. She was devoted to her family, and her love, generosity, and good humor shone through in her everyday actions as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Maureen grew up in Brockton and attended local schools there. After high school, she attended the Chandler School for Women in Boston and later lived for several years in California. Throughout her life, she held various jobs at First National Bank, Cardinal Cushing Hospital, and Abington’s Council on Aging.

On November 23, 1968, Maureen married Robert Dursin. In 1977 they moved to their home in Abington, MA where they lived for forty-five years, raised their two sons, and welcomed their daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Maureen was a longtime parishioner of Abington’s St. Bridget Parish. She enjoyed artistic and culinary hobbies such as upholstery, crochet, decoupage, cake decorating, and candy making. Some of her most treasured memories were the many years of summer vacations with her family on Cape Cod. True to her Irish heritage, she was a wonderful storyteller and always made every room brighter with her presence.

A loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother, Maureen is survived by her husband of nearly 54 years, Robert Dursin; her sister, Carol Feeley of Easton, MA; her children, Mark R. Dursin and his wife Sheri of Marlborough, CT, and Matthew Dursin and his wife Rachel Chernick of Watertown, MA; her grandchildren Alex and Charlie Dursin of Marlborough, CT, as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington on Tuesday November 29 from 2pm to 4pm, followed by a funeral service at 4pm. Interment will be at a later date.
