Ronald Norton, 83, of Abington passed away peacefully at home on November 23, after a long illness. He was able to maintain his kindness and humor in his final days. The true meaning of the greatest husband, father and papa someone could ever have.
Ron was born on September 14, 1939 in Boston. Born and raised in South Boston, attended Christopher Columbus High School. Briefly attended the seminary. Then went on to serve in the U.S. Army. Ron was employed by Boston Edison where he ultimately met his wife, Marie. Ron received his Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University while working two jobs. He was employed by The Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an Electrical Engineer and also worked nights at The Boston Garden for 50+ years.
Ron’s greatest love was his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie (Peavey) Norton. Devoted father to Christine Carreiro and her husband Rui of Whitman, Denise Gaffey and her husband Jim of Roslindale, Ronnie Norton Jr and his wife Kara of Cohasset, Stephanie Shields of Whitman and Alicia O’Leary and her husband Mike of Abington. Loving Papa to nine grandchildren: Kyle, Ryan, Maeve, Brady, Connor, Aine, Logan, Colby and Riley. Loving brother to Joan MacQueen, Janice Kussman, the late: Stephen Norton, Peggy Coughlin, Claire Capeless, Ronnie Logan and Thomas Logan Sr. Also, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at the Quealy and Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington on Monday November 28 from 4 to 8pm. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10:30am in St. Bridget Church, Abington. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
