Russell E. Reinhalter of Lac du Flambeau, WI formerly of Abington and Quincy, August 7, 2020, age 92. Russell “Russ”, was born on July 28, 1928 in Brockton. He spent his early years in the Muster Fields of Abington later moving to Quincy and graduating from Quincy High School. Russ proudly served in the United States Marine Corps following high school. Russ worked for General Dynamics as a draftsman and ship building designer at The Quincy Shipyard for most of his career – being among the last to leave “the yard” when in closed in the late 1980’s. Russ was active in St. Bridget’s Parish and the Knights of Columbus for many years and enjoyed spending time on the golf course with friends. Following his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, particularly to Alaska and the Panama Canal. His later years were spent relaxing, splitting time between homes in North Carolina and Wisconsin. He was the husband of the late Diana Reinhalter and the late Katherine Reinhalter. Russ is survived by long time, loving companion Mary Lou Fisher; Loving father of Kevin Reinhalter, Steven Reinhalter and wife Linda, Diane Fisher and husband David, Susan Reinhalter, Mark Reinhalter and wife Shanessa, and Lynne Bongette and husband Lawrence; Beloved grandfather of Lauren, Lindsey, and Hannah Reinhalter, Jaclyn Ostrowski and husband Matthew, Nicholas Fisher, Audrey and Kyle Bongette, and great-grandson Maxwell Ostrowski; Predeceased by brothers Walter and Robert Reinhalter and sisters Ruth Palans and Joan Scherber; Several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donation in memory of Russ can be made to Fisher House of Boston.
Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street on Thursday August13 from 5 to 7pm. A funeral mass will be held in St. Bridget Church, Abington Friday 9am. Please go directly to church (currently at 50 person capacity). Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland.
