Sarah (Fran) Bell, age 94, resident of Abington for 63 years died peacefully, at home with her son and daughters by her side on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Beloved wife of 55 years of the late Frank B. Bell cherished mother of the late Stephen W. Bell. Sarah is survived by her son Edward Bell of Abington, daughter Diane Boyle and her husband Dr. John of Canton and daughter Susanne Bell of Newton. She was also the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Sarah was born March 26,1927 in Northern Ireland, daughter of the late Elizabeth and William Frazer, who emigrated to the United States in 1929, settling in Brighton. Sarah also was predeceased by her five loving brothers, William, Joseph, Walter, Frederick and Donald.
Sarah graduated from Brighton High School in 1945, followed by Cambridge City Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She worked as an RN at Brockton Hospital, Colony House and Mildred Alford Nursing Homes for many years until her retirement in the early 1980’s.
Sarah was active in the community, volunteering for Meals on Wheels for over 25 years and participating in blood pressure clinics and other activities for seniors.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sarah’s Funeral Service at the Chapel at Newton Cemetery on Tuesday, November 23rd at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours are Monday, November 22 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Quealy and Son Funeral Home, 116 Adam’s Street, Abington. MA
