Stephen P. Cashman

Stephen Patrick Cashman, age 53, died on February 27, 2023 following an extended illness.  Stephen was born in Boston on April 26, 1969 and was the son of the late A. Barry Cashman and Bridget (McAteer) Cashman. 

Stephen is survived by his wife Kerry (Broadford) Cashman of Weymouth, his four sons, Michael, A. Barry, Brian and Kevin and their mother Nicole Gaudet Short, all of Abington, as well as his step-daughters, Kacie Murphy and Chloe Murphy, both of Weymouth.  He is also survived by his mother, Bridget (McAteer) Cashman of Abington, brothers James Cashman and John Cashman of Abington and sisters Aileen (Cashman) Smith of Bermuda, Susan (Cashman) Madden of Abington and many nieces and nephews.

Stephen was raised in Abington, where he spent most of his life.  He is a graduate of Abington High School where he was a three-sport varsity athlete and avid hockey player.  His love and passion for hockey continued beyond high school as he coached his four beloved sons, was an avid Bruins fan and stayed involved in the sport throughout his lifetime. His love for life, infectious personality and beautiful smile lit up every room he walked into and left lasting impressions on all of those surrounding him.  “Cash,” as he was belovedly referred to by his friends and family, was a dedicated husband, father, son, brother and friend.

Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington on Wednesday March 1 from 4 to 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday in St. Bridget Church, Abington at 10:30am. Interment will be at a later date.
