Dennis Richard Dyer

Dennis Richard Dyer passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 17, 2024 at the age of 81. Dennis was born on December 18, 1942 in Cambridge, MA. He was the son of the late Joseph and Rose Dyer.

Dennis is survived by the love of his life Maureen Rayne Dyer, they were married for over 57 years on April 29th, 2024 and together for 61 years. Dennis was the loving father to Karen Dyer O’Leary, Margaret St. John and Julie Riley.

Dennis was the beloved father of Karen Dyer O’Leary and her husband Teddy O’Leary, Margaret St. John, and Julie Riley and her husband Patrick Riley. Dennis was the proud Papa to Kayla Perry, Samantha St. John, Sarah St. John, Madelyn O’Leary, Michael O’Leary and Caroline and Grace Riley. He will be missed by his loving great grandchildren Cameron, Mason and Emma Perry.

Dennis is predeceased by his parents and Brother Brian Dyer. He was a great uncle to many cherished nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many brothers and sister-in-law as well.

Dennis’s greatest joy in life was his family nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his wife Maureen and the family. Whether it was family dinners or holidays Dennis always had a smile on his face when his family was together. Aside from spending time with his family he was an avid fisherman always enjoyed canoeing, camping trips with the Rayne family and playing a round of horseshoes.

Dennis was a proud Eagle Scout he was actually the youngest person to become and Eagle Scout in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the age of 15 in the year 1957. He loved going over to the Holbrook Sportsman Club. Dennis worked as administrator for the MBTA for over 30 years. After he retired he and Maureen would enjoy their time with supporting grandchildren at all their events over the years.

Dennis will be missed by all that loved him.

A visitation will be held at Quealy and Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street Abington, MA on Wednesday April 24 from 5PM to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Bridget’s Church Abington on Thursday April 25 at 10:30 AM. Burial will be private.
