Maureen Killelea Obituary

Maureen P. Killelea (O’Brien), 77, of East Bridgewater, MA, died peacefully in her sleep on March 11, 2024.  Maureen was born on September 13, 1946, to parents John J. O’Brien and Rosemarie O’Sullivan in Boston, MA.  She grew up on Coleman Street in Dorchester and followed her older brother and sister to Jeremiah E. Burke High School.  Maureen was a Captain of the Drill Team at Saint Peter’s Parish.  Following graduation from high school, Maureen worked as a secretary at the John Hancock Insurance Company.  It was at John Hancock where Maureen met her future husband, Roger Henry Killelea, who was working for IBM.  Maureen and Roger married in 1969 and moved to Quincy, MA where they celebrated the birth of their daughter, Lisa.  Maureen gave birth to two sons, Roger and Michael, and the family moved to Weymouth, MA where the children would all grow up.  Maureen was an animal lover, having several dogs and cats throughout her life.  She loved listening to Patsy Cline, playing bridge with her friends, and reading a good book with a cup of tea.  Maureen was predeceased by her mother, her father, and her brother, Jack. She is survived by her sisters - Rosemarie Wyllie, Joanne O’Brien, Meg O’Sullivan Leach, her children - Lisa Tobin, Roger Killelea, Michael Killelea - and two grandchildren.  

A visitation will be held at the Quealy and Son Funeral Home on Monday March 18 from 4PM to 6PM. Followed by a funeral home service at 6PM.
