Poem by Henry Van Dyke

Gone From My Sight

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone."

Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.

And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone,"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"

And that is dying...

I'm so shocked and sadden by this news. My dear little cheerleader. You meant so much to the group each time you would show up with your groupie Civil War T-shirt on, and a wonderful smile to go with it. How precious those memories are now. Please sit around the campfire with some Civil War soldier for me, and tell them all about us. We'll be sitting around the campfire talking about our wonderful memories of you as well. That's what it's all about. See you in another time and place my friend.

Message from Your Second Son
January 28, 2016 12:03 PM

Mom, your love of life, happiness and family will live on with us for ever. I am not ready to accept that you no longer walk with us along life's path. Yet I do understand that the gifts you shared with us through lessons and life will always be with us forever. My Macie has your love of cooking and so many other wonderful traits. My Darby has all your love of laughter and so many others as well. My wife Kelsey has every spark of life you ever gave her. I am extremely great full to have had you in my life and will cherish every memory I have. I will help watch over my family as well as yours until we meet again. I love you and will miss you for ever. Love your 2nd Son XOXO

Mom, there are no words to begin to tell you how much you mean to me. You are my everything, my soul, my world. I do not know how I will be able to move forward without you here. You have shown me all the kindness, honesty and love anyone could ever ask for. You gave of yourself 350 percent, all the time. I will miss your infectious laugh, your sense of humor, but most of all YOU.
You have been taken from us far too soon and I am angry about that. There are so many things that were ahead for all of us in the future. I love you more than words can say and I refuse to say goodbye. You will always be with us. Forever and always. Rest easy, Mom. You are with Nan and Poppi now.
We will be strong, because that is what you would want us to do, but it will not be easy. I will cherish every single moment we had together. <3
Love you, Mom. You were the most remarkable person to everyone who knew you.

Bruce, Kelsey, Clay and Family -
I'm so sorry to hear of Robyn's passing. I'll always remember her as a such a sweet and caring neighbor with such a great sense of humor! Growing up on Pine Street was the absolute best, with neighbors who knew and looked out for every kid on the street. Robyn was one of those neighbors! I remember delivering newpapers to the house as a kid - I could always count on a few laughs with Robyn. When my grandfather passed away back in 1991, she was quickly there with encouragement...it meant a lot!
Praying for God's comfort for all of you during this difficult time. Pine Street was one incredibly special place as a kid...because of neighbors like Robyn and others who really made the street a place to call 'home!' Thoughts and prayers with all of you.

My beautiful sister,
Altho we spent many years apart, our bond was never broken. You always made me feel worthy and loved. Your laughter, your quick wit, your knowing smiles, that is what I will miss the most. May you be embraced in God's love. Be at peace knowing that you will always be remembered, dear Robyn. And give Mom and Dad a big hug from us all.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Robyn. I had the pleasure of working with her consulting her amazing knowledge and respect for the Historical Commission of Abington. She truly cared about the town and was such a joy every time I contacted her about a property. She had such a wonderful sense of humor, and such a sweet personality. I was sad when she left the Historical Commission because I enjoyed her so much! My most sincere sympathies to her family and hope you will find peace knowing she was so loved.

Dear Robyn - words can not express how we feel. You were such an important part of our family. The love you showed to our children as they grew, you were a wonderful aunt. The stories and memories we have will keep you alive as we continue down our paths. Our heart aches for Bruce, Kelsey, Hutch, Clay and Darby and Macie but we know that you have left marks in their lifes and taught them the love that you have shown others. They will continue to share that special love with all they encounter. Heaven is lucky to have an angel like you....we love and miss you and give hugs to all that you see in heaven.

Mom,

I am sure to be reading all of the wonderful things people will have to say about your life.

It is hard to believe people have known you longer than I have been alive.
Perhaps I'll visit here to say more things, to share memories as they come to me.

I would like to thank all of the family and friends that will leave a note here and tell them that we love them and their support the last couple of weeks. The well wishes to you getting better in the hospital kept us standing tall, and we will need this same strength that you gave us to carry us through this new, very different reality.

Thank you, we love you all and please let us be there for you in similar time.

Big Thumbs Up, Mom. Way up.

Dad is good, Hutch and Kelsey are good, the girls are good, Chris, Corina and Stacy are good, AJ and Cam are good, my sweet Stacey is good, we all miss just you so much.

I love you a bushel and a peck.
