Sophia Costantino , of Abington, MA, formerly of  St. Louis , was called home to her eternal reward on Easter Monday- April 6,  2015. She will be joyfully greeted by her beloved parents Earl and Virginia Werth, and of course JESUS, Mary and Joseph and all the saints.

Sophia leaves her beloved husband , Robert and her 9 children, Matthew,  John, Andrew, Catherine Rose, Bridget, Michael, Elizabeth, Mary and Anne Marie. Sophie also leaves behind her devoted family of 6 siblings and their spouses: Helen and Billy, Maureen and Ami , Mary, Edward and Carrie, Teresa and Paul, and George and Kathy, and just as devoted in-laws: Frank and Linda, Ned and Jeannie, dearest Catherine, and Billy and Ellen. Sophie also leaves her numerous nephews and nieces on both sides of the family who have cherished their time with Aunt Sophie. Lastly, Sophia leaves her 30+ grandchildren, yet to be fashioned by God's hands, for whom she will be praying for in the heavenly Kingdom.

Sophie was educated at St. Louis University and graduated with a nursing degree and received her Masters degree in nursing at Boston College. Sophia had intentions to return to St Louis  "to change the world" but God called her to remain in Boston   to be a Mother and to spend herself in service of her children and to spread her unbounded faith with everyone she met. Instead of from St. Louis, Sophie transformed the world from her home in Abington.

In addition to raising her family, Sophia expressed her great love for the Blessed Mother by establishing a Rosary program many years ago at St. Bridget School and she was the pro life coordinator at the parish. Each year Sophia would meet with each of the classes to make Rosaries  and to explain the truths regarding the sanctity of life, most especially about the wonders of conception and the unborn child.

Most recently, Sophie established a first Friday Rosary group at Notre Dame Academy. This group brought her and those who attended many graces and was attended by students and faculty of NDA.

Even in her last days of disease of brain cancer, Sophie so willingly offered her suffering to bring souls to JESUS. Sophie's passing will leave a very deep hole in the Costantino and Werth families but also will be sorely missed by all those with whom she shared her light and the light of Christ.

Sophie will be waked at the Quealy and Son Funeral Home at 116 Adams Street,  Abington on Thursday April 9, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M, and her Holy Mass of Celebration will be at St Bridget's Church, 455 Plymouth Street, Abington on Saturday April 11, 2015 at 10:30 A.M., with interment  immediately following the Mass in St. Patrick's cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Sophia Costantino Catholic Education Scholarship Fund, c/o Harbor One Bank, 660 Bedford Street, Abington, MA  02351.
