Terrance C. Williams (Terry), 72, of Abington, passed away unexpectedly on October 2.  He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, and high school sweetheart, Linda E. (Wagner) Williams, and his daughters, Tracie L. Drouin of Lakeville, and Kerri L. Stevens of Berkley, as well as his sons-in-law, Louis F. Drouin and Jeffrey M. Stevens, and his grandsons, Marc T. Drouin and Carter J. Stevens.

Born in Utica, NY, Terry was the son of the late Marjorie and Henry Williams, half-brother to the late Craig Williams and uncle to his late great niece Ashley Erin Edwards.  Terry is also survived by his stepmother, Vada Williams, half-sister Vay Ann Williams, niece Brandy Hylton and great-great niece Holli Edwards.

Terry grew up in North Quincy, MA and graduated from North Quincy High School in 1961.  During that time he played third base for the high school baseball and football teams and was asked to try out for the Boston Red Sox.

After high school, Terry enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era where he became a Specialist E5 and trained as a marksman and heavy equipment operator.  After his years of service, Terry became a Hoisting Engineer and worked for Marr Equipment for nearly 40 years, becoming a long-time member of IUOE Local 4, retiring in July 2007.

Becoming a grandfather was a source of immense pride for him.  He loved his grandsons very much and enjoyed watching them play sports or just hanging out with them.

Heaven has gained an angel and the world has lost a treasure.  He will be missed more than anyone could ever imagine.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday, October 9 from 6-8 p.m., with a celebration of his life to follow.  Private burial services will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association at http://www.donatenow.heart.org; the American Diabetes Association at http://diabetes.org/donate, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
