To John's family and friends.... I was deeply saddened to learn of John's passing. I knew him from the "neighborhood, growing up" we worked together at Lantana in the late 1970's, and over the years would see him regularly, until 2 or 3 years ago. As others have noted, he met the challenges life threw at him with dignity and his head held high. He seemed to view each day as a gift. He will be missed, but I'm certain he is resting peacefully.

Dear Mark, Mickey, Patty and families,
I am very sad to hear of John's passing. I was up to see him at Easter and he remained determined to get well enough to go home. He always had a big smile when we would visit and handled his struggles with dignity and good humor.
I have so many fond memories, from our youth through the holidays we spent with him. We will miss him.
He will be missed

I am so sad to hear of John's passing. Having moved back to Abington 3 years ago I was lucky to reconnect with John at the gym, having not seen him since we were neighborhood kids on Summit Road. For the past year or so I wondered where he was and how he was doing. Life threw too many challenges his way, and he had such strength to persevere as he did. He is at peace now. So very sorry for your loss Mark, Patty, Michelle and your family as well. Many prayers to all.

To all of John's relatives and friends... John taught me a great deal about perseverance and drive. It seems no matter what the obstacle John found away around it, if not threw it to get to his ultimate goal. His passion for life was extraordinary... He was someone that could bring out every emotion in you good or bad. I will truly miss his big smile, and strong hand shake. I'm glad he is finally at peace.
Jack
