Maria - I only knew you for a year but you were someone who was wasy to adore. Your resilience, strength and kind spirit are traits that I always admired. You always looked at the optistic side and things and that is a lesson that we should all learn from. I will remember you always with much fondness.
Deane - I can't imagine how much sadness you must be feeling. I hope we can all be so luck to have someone love us the way that you & Maria loved each other. Please know my thoughts are with you.
- Nina

Maria & Deane welcomed us into their Tennessee home almost 47 years ago. Deane helped Al with his electronic studies and Maria fed us and chatted through the Saturdays. She reminded me of my own family because we both had a strong Italian heritage. We have enjoyed staying friends with the Taylors throughout our marriage and admire both of them very much.
Her humor, good advice and strength will be missed by all of her Facebook friends.
We offer our sincere sympathy to the whole family, knowing you will remember that she wouldn't want you to grieve too long. Her hope is that you continue on with your lives with love, compassion, and a fighting spirit, doing what is morally right.

Deane, I know that you have just lost the love of your life; but know that she has gone to a wonderful place where there is no pain, no sorrow, no hunger, no disease, and where the Alpine lilies, primrose and crocus always bloom. Here is a short poem I sought out to commemorate and celebrate her travel to a new and wondrous place that we all will come to in God’s own time, one of these days:
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you,
And whispered, "Come to me."
You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.

Dear Deane,
Even though you have lost the love of your life, I hope you find peace knowing she's in a place where there is no pain, no sadness, no hunger, no death; here is a simple poem to venerate and celebrate her passing:
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you,
And whispered, "Come to me."
You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.

Your write-up really covers the drive and thirst for a great life which Maria possessed. I was so glad to have become Facebook buddies with her quite a few years ago and we constantly enjoyed each others' postings. I think Maria possessed a courage through all her illness that many of us could not. We are so sorry for your great loss and hope that your many years of memories will be a comfort of some sort.
