My heart breaks for the family Smith with the loss of their brother, cousin, uncle Neil. It also fills with the joy of wonderful memories of times shared with Neil on 4th of July, Halloween, Christmas parties, and other gatherings of friends and family over the course of many years. Neil was big as life, filled the room with his presence, and had a gentle loving soul. My hopes and prayers are that his family and friends will surround themselves with the loving, joyful memories of Neil in this time of sadness as we celebrate the full, yet shortened life of Neil Kelleher Smith. With love and deepest sympathy,

To the Smith Family. I am so sorry for your loss and our loss of a great friend. I was lucky enough have been able to call him one of a few truly best friends. He and I raised way too much hell for our parents, but somehow we survived and we were always able to laugh about it late. He always had my back. Thoughts and prayers from Wan and I. Rest in peace my friend, I'll never forget you

Neil, I feel blessed to have spoken to you just over a week ago, as we stood in line paying our respect to Timmy Farrell. Our paths have crossed many times, over the years. You always had kind supportive words to share. Your big heart was a big as your big smile. I loved when you would call me brother. It always made me feel special. We are all brothers in our journey called life, but there will never be another brother like you. Gary

Cathy and Brian (and the Smith family) - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this time of sadness. Remembering Neil and his ability to make anyone smile. Always welcoming and kind. Here's praying he was pleasantly surprised when greeted with loving open arms of those called home before him.
And when meeting his maker being told, "Job well done!"
May you continue to smile down on all of those that love you!

My love and prayers to Neil’s family and his many friends.

I was friends with Neil from high school, through college years and beyond. We had a lot of fun times together. He was always a strong but sweet guy, who would give you his last dollar. Which you did for me more than a few times.

I have always appreciated the simplicity of Neil’s life and his power to make time stand absolutely still. He never changed. Seeing Neil was like entering a time machine in which you would instantly be returned to those years whenever you hung out with him.

Whenever you bumped into him, no matter how long it had been, it was like not a minute had passed since your last visit. He was warm, goofy, he never missed a chance to laugh and joke but always welcoming and caring.

Rest in Peace, Neil Smith.

Much love,

Buddy
