I happened upon Sophie's obituary recently and found myself in pure, utter shock. It took me days to reconcile with her passing, truly. I can't even remember how I met Sophie, but for the short time I lived in the Abington area, she became one of my most treasured friends. She was always including me in things - prayer breakfasts at her home, lunch and swim afternoons with the kids at Island Grove, pony birthday parties. When my husband and I were going through a bad time, she invited us to join a couples group at the Oblates of Mary in Milton. No matter how busy, she always took the time to answer the phone and talk to me, injecting her sweet humor into even the most delicate of conversations. Sophie's friendship, however brief, was invaluable to me and I will never forget her. She was, and still is, the most genuine, loving, kind person I have ever met.

Dearest Robert and children,
Please accept our deepest sympathies for your loss. I did not know that Sophie was sick, and just found out today (9/17/15) that she passed away. I am in shock. She will be greatly missed, I am sure. If there is anything we can do for you, please let us know. We will remember Sophie and you all in our prayers. May God comfort you.
In the Heart of Jesus, through Mary,

I went to Cor Jesu with Sophie. I did not keep in touch but have very fond memories of Sophie. She was one of the first girls I met there and was my typing partner. What a fun, vivacious typing partner she was! Sophie lit up a room and was full of love and positive energy wherever she was. I am so very sorry for your loss and will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Joelle Lowing

Dear Robert,
We are so sad about losing Sophie - you and the kids are in our constant prayers. Sophie was truly the best possible witness for Christ. And so warm and funny. Even though we lost touch over the years, any time Sophie came into our thoughts and conversation, it always made us smile and laugh and admire her faith and strive to have the depth of faith she has. Love, Beth and Chris

To the Costantino Family,
I had the pleasure of working with Sophia at Quincy college over the past 2 years, and as you already know, she was a joy to be around. She was a beautiful and giving person and my life is all the richer for having her in it. Though we didn't know each other for very long, she will always be in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless.

Our deepest sympathies to all of you. Your wife and Mom was a very special lady who brought tremendous kindness and generosity to all she encountered. Her faithfulness is an example that all should try to imitate.
We have known Sophie for many years through our children attending St. Bridget's and Xaverian together. Matt and our Patrick were dear friends during their days together. We shared many precious times together during those years.
Our greatest memory of Sophie is of the times she would run to catch up with you, no matter where you were, at school or at church to ask for prayers for someone in need.
We know Sophie is resting peacefully and praying for all of you and for all souls.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I came to know Sophie and the Constantino family during my short tenure as a teacher at St. Bridgette's School for Michael and Bridgette. During that time I learned how devoted Sophie was to her family, the school and of course her faith. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time! I know that Sophie has been called back to God to serve as one of his angels to watch over all of you! May God Bless You All! Mrs. Mair

I am so sorry for your loss. I'm not sure if I should be praying for Sophie or to her! So I will do both. As you know, she is an amazing woman! I know I am a better person today just by knowing her. She always brought out the best in people. She will remain in my heart each time I say the rosary. As sad as I am that her time on earth is over. I can only imagine her joy right now! Keep talking to her, she will get you through your darkest hours. Thank you for sharing her with us!

My Dear Robert- I am soooo very sad right now and wishing I could be there. You both have been such great friends throughout the years. From the time I was little and Sophia's family was friends with our family to the time I lived with Sophie in college. Finally remembering introducing you and the budding romance. Your engagement and wedding. The legacy of 9 beautiful children. My heart breaks with you as I too have gone through close losses lately. I know how hard this will be for you. May the Holy Spirit be your comfort and your counselor. I am praying for you all. Love Sylvia

To the Constantino Family, please accept our sincerest condolences for the loss of your wife, Mother, sister and friend. Paul and I had the wonderful opportunity to get to know Sophie many years ago when we worked together on a fundraiser to support the Morgan family following the passing of Susan Morgan. Sophie was a wonderful woman, kind, loving, very spiritual and willing to do all in her power to help. It was an honor to know her. Our daughter Kerri, a graduate of NDA and currently studying abroad in Italy reached out after hearing of Sophie's passing and asked that we let all of Sophie's children know that she was a "Beautiful person and in the brief conversation that Kerri had with Sophie when she was an ambassador at the front door of NDA, it was clear that she was an Angel here on Earth". With sympathy, Christine, Paul and Kerriann Fitzgerald.

Whenever there was something going on in my life, God would put Sophie in my path. She would reach into her "Mary Poppins" bag and find a medal or prayer card, a rosary, a DVD that pertained to whatever was happening. Sophie truly was a loyal and faithful servant and is with all the angels and saints. I will treasure her always.

I am so sorry for your loss. Sophie was an amazing woman, a tireless defender of the faith, a loving mother and wife, a good sibling, aunt and cousin, a wonderful friend, a generous teacher and inspiration to those who knew her. Your personal loss is felt by so many people, in so many communities - among them SBS and NDA. I am saddened for you who are left to carry on without this strong woman. Her love for each of you was unmeasurable. She has shared with you the strength of her own faith. May your faith and the knowledge that her suffering has ended help you in the days to come. I know, as you do, that she has truly been "called home" and was welcomed into the loving arms of Christ. My prayers for all of you continue.

Rob, Children and Family - my sincere sympathy to you on the loss of your beloved Sophie. I'm sure there were great shouts of joy on her arrival into heaven. When my husband died, Sophie later presented me with a beautiful rosary that was made from the fresh roses on my husband's casket. They are such a comfort to me. I will remember that always. May the love that others show for you and their continued support enable you to get through this hard time of loss. As the days go on, may your family and friends remain by your side. They will be a treasured gift from heaven, as Sophie was to all of you.
