William McKinley Tracy, 70, of Abington passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015. The son of Floyd and Geneva (Chapman) Tracy was born in Corder, Missouri on December 24, 1944. He was the fourth oldest of eight children.

William was raised and educated in Corder, Missouri; graduating in 1962 from Corder High School. After graduation he joined the Air Force serving four years. He was relieved of active duty in 1967 and transferred to the Air Force Reserves where he served as a Special Vehicle Repairman for the 551st Transportation Squadron, ADC, at Otis AFB until being honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1969. In 1967 he married the former Sandra Marie Arneson. William worked for over 40 years as an automotive mechanic, most recently employed by First Student of Whitman.

William is survived by his son Jeffrey Tracy; his brother Richard and his wife Linda; his brother Donald and his wife Irma; his sister Linda Bauer and her husband Ken; his sister Carol Lefman and her husband George; his sister Cheryl Ellerman and her husband Robert; his brother Gary and his wife Ann; his brother-in-law Larry Jackson; his brother-in-law William Arneson and his wife Diane; his sister-in-law Jean Bailey and her husband Adam; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd (“Cotton”) and Geneva, his wife Sandra (Arneson) Tracy and his sister Janice (Tracy) Jackson. Known as “Mac” and “Bill”, William was a Ham radio operator and a member of the Whitman Amateur Radio Club whose call sign was N1SON. He was also an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed the annual “Mass 5” Fishing Trip with his family members.
